
People who grow up in a chaotic, unpredictable and unhealthy family tend to have extremely similar traits and unhealthy coping patterns. Many of these can continue through generations if these patterns are not broken
And, the influence of these negative patterns can invaded all aspects of your life in the future.
1. Take responsibility for your life and feelings, and let others take responsibility for their lives and their feelings.
2. Employ boundaries, and respect other people’s boundaries.
3. Be consistent. Know that change takes commitment and time, so allow the change to take hold steadily and gradually until it becomes the new normal.
4. Be compassionate and empathic towards yourself.
5. Heal: Through healing, you have the opportunity to allow your authentic self to be seen & recognized. Your true self deserves to be acknowledged & valued.

It’s important to realize that you are not at fault, because it did not start with you. Rather, you grew up in an unhealthy environment or “dysfunctional family which caused you to develop essential yet unhealthy survival habits, it was likely a coping mechanism or a way to adapt, however, this does not have to define you.
